The artificial lake is situated in Dumlupınar University EvliyaÇelebi Campus and lies in the North-West direction. The surface area of the artificial lake is 35,600 m² and the circumference is 880 meters.  The outlet of the campus's rainwater and drainage waters is connected to this lake and it is fed from underground and surface waters in the surrounding area. The lake bed is composed of ophiolitic formations such as serpentinite and peridotite and sedimentary structures. According to 2000 data, the volume of water was 210,000 m³ whereas the volume of water reached 961,957 m³ in 2017.

To be able to carry out underwater mining in the lake, some measures need to be taken. For instance, activities such as prevention of water pollution, protection of water resources, collection of more water at lakes, and prolongation of service life should be prioritized. Accordingly, it is necessary to determine the current topographic conditions of lakes, the change in reservoir storage capacities, geological structure, vegetation cover, analyze the data on water resources and physical and chemical properties of water. For this purpose, The center of GOLARES (Group of Lake and River Energy Systems), established in Dumlupınar University, aims to conduct research in lake waters in Turkey and in the world. Through the obtained data, it is planned to evaluate and examine all lake beds limnologically.

Mineral exploration studies are planned by examining the minerals in the lake beds. It is also aimed to collect information on the flora, zoology, habitat and ecosystem of the region using the samples collected from the area surrounding the lake and the lake bed.
